Digital Detox Retreat: The Program
Forget about timetables, meetings and FOMO - our lives are too busy already!
At The Offline Getaway, there is no program - everything happens spontaneously. You can do whatever, whenever. Wake up easily and read or journal in a hammock, go on a walk in nature, cuddle with Maya the pig, take a nap by the pool, start a drawing or painting, or do nothing at all. The only goal of our digital detox retreat is to slow down to a snail’s pace, be present, clear your mind and reconnect with yourself, nature and the people around you. You don’t have to worry about anything - we take care of it all.
Food from the garden and campfire
At night, indulge in our home-made dinners with vegetables from the farm’s garden, stargaze by the campfire, and enjoy fun and interesting conversations with the other participants. But only if you feel like it - there are zero social obligations.
So, what about phones and other digital devices?
Detoxing from social media and endless notifications is one of the main advantages of our digital detox retreat. It allows you to refocus, rest and open your mind to new ideas and creativity. Therefore, we take your phone, laptop and other digital devices upon arrival and lock them up safely. E-readers are allowed. Of course, we can be reached at all times by your friends and family for emergencies. And if you really need to speak to a friend or family member, just let us know, we’re not that strict.
With my phone I have much shorter conversations and the conversations take place from head to head. Here, with nobody having a phone, we have heart to heart conversations. -Mieke-

Digital Detox Retreat: The Group
You’ll spend The Offline Getaway with 16-20 like-minded people, all with the same intention: a weekend of rest and time for themselves, open to connect and socialise when they feel like it.
Anyone is welcome: young and old, men and women, and from any cultural background. During past editions, we’ve welcomed both men and women between 23 and 68 from Slovakia to England and from The Netherlands to the United States. All warm, open and fun. ❤️
The combination of no online distractions, wonderful people, animals and nature, fantastic little towns and markets, a delightful pool, and not to forget delicious food and special moments of shared silence... It leaves you wanting more! - Ingeborg-
The Faces Behind The Offline Getaway at Simply Canvas Farm
Our Digital Detox Retreat is a special collaboration between The Offline Club and Simply Canvas Farm. The Offline Club, founded in Amsterdam by 27-year-olds Jordy, Valentijn and Ilya, is on a mission to reconnect people with themselves and others, in the non-digital world. They do this through offline events in cities, and digital detox retreats: The Offline Getaway. Simply Canvas Farm is founded and run by Sandra (53) and Santi (48), two former monastics in Plum Village, a Buddhist Monastery. Sandra and Santi will lead The Offline Getaway, together with one representative from The Offline Club.
A Match Made in Heaven
The Offline Getaway and Simply Canvas Farm are a match made in heaven, as both aim to inspire people to slow down and find true (human) connection, offline. In 2024, we organised our first five-day Digital Detox Retreat together, and it was fantastic. Here’s how Ilya experienced the Digital Detox Retreat:
The Offline Getaway at Simply Canvas Farm was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. It left a huge mark on me and has changed the way I live: more present, more intentional, slower. Sandra and Santi are among the kindest and most inspiring people I have met and the connection I felt to the other participants was beyond expectations. - Ilya Kneppelhout, co-founder, The Offline Club-
The Location: Simply Canvas Farm and Its Surroundings
Simply Canvas Farm is located in Saint-Jean-de-Duras and is surrounded by sunflower fields and rolling hills. It’s the perfect place to unwind and be away from everything, while also being close to plenty of spontaneous activities and outings:
You can wander to a slow-paced 12th-century village to visit the local farmer’s market, eat fresh croissants at the nearby café, or taste wine at a local winery. Or, you can go swimming in the river, visit the beautiful village Bergerac, or experience Plum Village, a Buddhist Monastery at walking distance from the farm. Everything is easily reachable by foot or by car. You can book a transfer through us, or take a ride with one of the other participants.
Our Farm is easily reachable by car, plane or train. Please see the bottom of this page for more travel information.
What About Food and Drinks?
These five days are all-inclusive, and you will be treated to delicious meals three times a day. Sandra and Santi are known for their culinary skills using fresh, local and organic vegetables, edible flowers, and other products from their own garden. All meals are vegetarian. Allergies? We can accommodate almost all allergies - please inquire before your stay. Would you like to eat gluten-free? That's possible, we charge an extra €5 per day for this.
As for drinks, there is a large common area (the former cow shed) where you can make coffee and herbal tea all day, for free (you can pick the herbs yourself in the garden). If you fancy soft drinks, wine, cappuccinos or ice cream, you can grab those from the “honesty fridge” at an affordable price, due at the end of your stay. Feel free to bring your own snacks or drinks for in-between-moments and store them in our refrigerators.
